an intimate affair
by Amy
it was a morning wedding followed by a scrumptious lunch at the corson building in seattle. the 55 people present happened to be their closest friends and family and it was an intimate affair. a beautiful day where the sun came out even though the forecast predicted heavy rain.
her “somethings” and a fabulous, simple j crew dress that seemed as though it was designed for sara and sara alone.
her closest friend, her new sis-in-laws and her mama kept her company and dolled her up before the ceremony. she was well taken care of as they made her even more beautiful than she already is.
sara is one of those amazing women that doesn’t have to do a thing to be gorgeous. she reminds me of a j crew model with her simple, elegant style and poise. her dress, her shoes, her necklace, her hair…she just glowed with elegant grace.
while i spent the morning with sara and the girls, my amazing second shooter, emily bell of emy lyn photography spent the morning with geoff and his best bud. there was a bit of trouble getting the ties perfect and i loved being able to see the camaraderie between the men to get the job done. they did well.
sara’s ring and vintage clutch purse were from her gramma. the details of their day had such beautiful thought put into them.
sara had these gorgous pink shoes and geoff was such a stud to rock the pink socks to match.
we wandered (quickly) through the pike place market area for a few love bird shots. these two were professionals. em and i hardly had to even hint ideas…they just wanted to stare at each other, canoodle and gush. perfection for the photographers right?! too cute…
tears fell among the men as they prayed together before the ceremony. sara helped her father get his tie on straight, giggled with her bridesmaid and smiled at all the wedding goings-on that were taking place in the courtyard below.
the ceremony was short and sweet. a moment, like none I have ever seen, brought me to tears behind the camera. i have seen people pray for or over the couple but never had i seen such a tender display of love.
geoff prayed with his bride. no one could hear the words but whatever he said… it was so touching. i am sure even more so to sara.
since it was such a small wedding, family portraits took on a whole new side. we loved watching the dynamics between all the family members. so much love and adoration in one place. it just gave you the warm fuzzies!
sara and geoff both work for starbucks so a typical cake would not do. white and pink cake pops (a la starbucks) fed the guests and made for an awesome couple’s cake feed!
after the wedding, we snuck away for a few more shots of the lovely couple. are they not just gorgeous? there were so many gorgeous photos, i couldn’t fit them all in one post.
thank you geoff and sara, for trusting me with your day, with your beautiful moments and with your love. you two are amazing and beautiful inside and out. it was so special to be in the midst of you, your family and friends and i am forever touched by the kindness you showed emily & me. not to mention the happy belly with that bag of almond joys. [thank you]
