here's to you mrs.robinson

she giggled like crazy at everything i said the night i first met her. i liked her instantly. so when she asked if i would photograph her wedding before her beau had even proposed, there was no question about it. i was beyond flattered and wanted to call todd in kuwait and make him propose that minute. but he didn’t need me to pressure him…they had been together over eight years. they had been asked “when are you going to get married?” more than enough times. and then he proposed…through the mail. isn’t that awesome?! they have a thing for special moments shared in the mail…
11.11.11 was a special day, not just because of all the eye-crossing ones but it was also veterans day. what better day to marry the love of your life when he is also a man who proudly serves our country. of course the colors had to be red, white and blue and of course, todd looked so handsome in his uniform. every accent of the day was perfectly adorned with the our country’s markings. i loved it.
jenna is not only an awesome giggler, listener, friend and story teller but she is drop dead gorgeous. seriously. so picture perfect.
they wanted to do a first look and see each other before the ceremony. it melted my heart, as they shared this special time before the event, to see random passer-by’s shake his hand and thank him for his service and then congratulate them on their wedding.
the ceremony was small and intimate which meant no ring bearer. todd handled it on his own and kept that ring safe. love how petite her ring size is on his big protective and loving hands.
last kiss before the first kiss…
doesn’t she just take your breath away? so gorgeous…
the ceremony and a meal took place at ray’s boathouse on shilshole and the dock, where they said “i do”, had holes in the floor. the little guys couldn’t believe there was water…beneath their feet…and they could see it in this position. i tried it…and it is awesome. they know what they are doing! ps. i have never held rings more tightly as i prepped them for the close up shots, as i did in this room. holy extra deodorant batman!
and intimate ceremony reveals all the closeness of a family. of sisters. love the shot my amazing assistant lindsay caught.
thank you jenna and todd, for allowing me the honor of shooting your wedding. thank you for your service, todd. and thank you for becoming a woman who supports him, jenna. i loved watching you (whoa…that sounds creeper but hear me out) in your quiet moments before the wedding or seeing you as your eyes caught across the room while you mingled with guests. jenna, i love that you bring such comfort and joy to todd. that you know him so perfectly, serve him so well and love him so completely. i adore your forever smile and your beauty, inside and out. todd, i love that you are such a manly man but still are so tender and loving with your wife. that you were so easy to photograph even though i occasionally treated you like a well trained puppy and that you made multiple claims that i was the only one allowed to ever photograph you. even if it wasn’t true, it made my heart swell! thank you both for including us in your day and making us feel like we were a part of your family. your wedding was so awesome in so many ways and we were so honored to photograph every minute of it! love to you both!
wait…what is this? we actually remembered to get a photo with the bride?! 😉 love it…
Really lovely portraits of the wedding!!! Lucky couple;-)
