2011 fabulous mini sessions

Mini Sessions were such a hit last year that I wanted to repeat the fabulous.  For $275, you get a 30 minute session and your choice of a Print Package or Custom Photo Greeting Cards.  Take your pick of three different cities on three different days.  They book up fast so please email me to reserve your space.  Once your $100 retainer fee (to hold your session) is received, I will send you out the contract and we will be all set.  I get a lot of questions about these mini sessions so I have answered them below.  If I missed something, my email address is at the bottom of this post and I would love to hear from you!

What is a Mini Session?

A mini session is a smallish version of my normal family portrait session.  There is only one location set for the day you choose with open time slots available on a first come, first serve basis.  You (the client) come to the location, dressed and ready to go, and we spend 30 minutes capturing family photos, kid/sibling photos, possible individual shots and if time allows, a few candids.  A full session allows for many more unscripted moments but with 30 minutes, we are just going for the basics that you will need to update your frames (in time for Christmas), have fresh images for your holiday cards, and a few fun shots to show off on Facebook.  After the session, you will be emailed a link to your private online gallery with 10-15 edited images for you to choose from as well as all of our product options.   Your package of cards or prints (which ever you chose) is included in the price but you are able to purchase more or other products at ridiculously discounted prices.

For mini sessions to work, you need to show up 10 minutes early ready to go!  No finishing up make up, hair or snacks…be ready please!  If you are late, due to the rest of the days schedule, your session will be cut short and less images may be provided to you.   If you have kids that need naps, please be sure to schedule a time that will work around their schedule so we can have an fun and enjoyable session.  😉

What do I get if I choose the Print Package?

The print package come with one 8×10 print, four 5×7 prints and two sheets of wallets (8 wallets per sheet).  These sizes are perfect to keep in the house or share with family and friends.  I will not accept a swap in sizes due to the deep discount of the mini sessions.  If you wish to purchase additional products or print sizes, you may do so from the private online gallery you will be given.  Discounted rates apply to all add-on purchases.  The 8×10 print comes mounted on a thick plastic, giving the print a crisp, rigid shape that will not bow in frames or can be displayed without a frame.

What do I get if I choose the Custom Greeting Card Package?

With the Custom Card package you will receive 48 gorgeous double sided 5×7 greeting cards to send out to family and friends this Holiday Season.  You will make your choice of the card layout you desire, let me know the images you prefer on the card and I will do the rest, giving you ready to mail cards for all your adoring fans.  If you wish to order additional packages of 24, you can do so for the cost of $37 per set.  Cards come in full color print on the paper of your choice (samples available at session and might require price adjustment depending on choice) with high quality white envelopes.  If you wish to upgrade your cards to another size or one of the folded options, you may do so for an additional charge.

What is the max number of people we can have for a Mini Session?

I suggest up to six people but am aware that some of you amazing people have much larger families.  Hello?!  I have a family of six!!  I will take as many people in your immediate family as you have but, please be aware that we are still limited to only 30 minutes.  I will try my very best to get all the shots your heart desires in that 30 minutes!

How much is a mini session?

A mini session is $275 for the session and you choose the option of products you prefer.  I am required to add Washington State Sales tax (9.5%) on to the session fee.  If you need your items shipped to you, there will be an additional cost to cover that as well.

How do I book our spot?

All sessions are booked first come, first serve. Please select your desired date and time below and email me that you would like to book it. I will send you a contract within 24 hours and take a $100 retainer fee to hold your spot.  Retainer Fees are non-refundable, unless you or I am able to rebook your spot.

Do we get all of the images on a disc from our session included?

Only if you choose to purchase them at the deeply discounted price of $180.  Digital files of your images, at normal rate, are $700 but I made a special discount for my mini session customers.  If purchased, your images are given to you on a DVD with a custom case and come with a full resolution set for printing and a optimized resolution set for sharing via email, Facebook or other social media.

What do you mean when you say “edited images to choose from”?

That means I cull all of your photos for the best of the best, then color correct them, punch and pop them, crop if need be and prepare them for presentation. It does not mean that I do tummy tucks, chin reductions, wrinkle removing or other major edits. I am happy to do this type of editing for you; the rate for extensive editing is $60/hour. Most images take approx 20 minutes each for basic wrinkle removing/skin softening/eye enhancing and a little longer for digital plastic surgeries, but we will prorate the editing amount for you. (ie., if you have us edit 1 image and its takes 15 minutes, the cost is $15 for that image.)

Will you provide props for our shoot, or can we bring them?

For mini sessions I won’t be able to provide any props (chairs, lollipops, balloons, etc.) however you are more then welcome to bring any of these items if you want to incorporate them.  It does add that personal family touch!

We want to do a full hour family session instead of the Mini Session. Are you offering special packages for those?

I do offer full sessions but am currently booked solid until January 2012.  If you wish to have a full family portrait session, please contact me for available dates and information or for the photographers I can recommend you to in the area.

Can I see the Christmas Card options?  How do I tell you which ones I want?

You can view the Christmas Card options here and I will be bringing real cards (with all the different paper options) for you to see at the session.  You will choose your card at the session and then alert me to the images you wish to use when you receive your gallery.

What should we wear?

Choose two to three colors (for example navy, grey and yellow) and build your outfit around that.  Have each person wear the colors in different combinations, keeping in mind that you don’t all have to look the same.  Keep it simple, keep it comfortable and wear what you like.  I am not saying you have to buy all new outfits buuuuut….it is great justification!  😉   Stay away from big logos, loud patterns and all white or black shirts.    I will also be emailing you a PDF file with helpful tips on getting everyone dressed to look their best!
